Lower Brailes itself has many years of history and tradition dating back to and before the Doomsday Book. The village was once the 3rd largest town in the country - in it's hey day being larger than Birmingham. Lower Brailes has a stunning church which was built by the workers housed in The George Hotel. The church was once thought to be a cathedral by all the surrounding villages and towns and is proud to house the 3rd biggest and oldest set of 6 bells in the country which to this day still ring to a wonderful sound.
There are a wealth of places to visit in the local vicinity, including historical Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon and Warwick with its historic castle and plenty of beautiful villages and towns in the Cotswolds National Park. The historic university town of Oxford also is just a short drive away.
The village itself, can boast no fewer than 10 circular walks which take in some stunning views and scenery.
Close to the Hotel is the Brailes golf course which is situated on one of the walks and a round of golf can be arranged with your stay through the hotel at a discounted rate.
